With a total floor area of 115,000 square meters, seven floors above ground and two below, it is the largest single-building library in China. Designed by the renowned Danish firm Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, the library draws inspiration from the Taihu stone – a cherished motif in ancient Chinese literati culture – embodying a design philosophy of "forest jade" that seamlessly integrates architecture with its surrounding nature.
